Guild Policies Empty
PostSubject: Guild Policies   Guild Policies EmptySun Jul 22, 2012 1:57 am

Our policies and rules are based on the decisions of the guild as a group. Any rules deemed unnecessary or inappropriate are reviewed and updated accordingly. We are constantly referring to these rules for decision-making and punishment fairness. If any of these rules seem wrong or improper please contact Mal for change. These will be updated whenever needed.

Most guild rules have been in place since the founding of the guild, but others have been brought in as new situations have been encountered. Most rules are implemented by the Advisor Council, however some are decided on in guild meetings. The following is the current updated list of rules and policies:

A. Spamming

1. Intentional spam is not allowed. If it exceeds 5 lines with the intent to annoy or offend players, the offender will be issued a warning. After that, they will be removed from the guild with a chance to appeal.

2. Automated chat add-ons, such as auto-gratz or auto-advertisers, are also not allowed. On the first offense, the offender will be issued a warning to turn it off. On the second offense, they will be demoted until the add-on is turned off. If it is still not disabled after the repromotion, the offender will be demoted for 5 days. If, after that demotion, the add-on is still not turn off, they will be kicked with a chance to appeal. Add-ons such as damage meters should be limited to 10 lines if requested, or however many lines you need to express your point if not requested. They do not count as spam add-ons unless used improperly.

3. Spamming a player in whispers is not allowed. If the player is bothered by the talk and provides proof of offense to an officer, the offender will be warned. If the offender uses whispers because of lost chat privileges from a previous offense, then the offender will be kicked without a warning.

4. Arguing with officers over add-on or spam-related issues is not allowed. If  player is found to be persistently arguing with an officer, they will be demoted for 3 days. If the issue is not resolved, the offender will be removed from the guild.

B. Guild Bank

1. Members are only allowed to take items from the guild bank that they need. If items that are deemed inappropriate for the player are taken, a demotion will be issued until the items/gold have been returned. There is no appeal to this case, unless the officer is being irresponsible.

2. Stealing from the guild bank is not allowed. After admittance from the offender of purposeful theft, demotions will follow. Further punishments may follow with non-compliance.

3. If a member abuses any glitch or exploit to gain more money or gold from the guild bank than they are allotted, the offender will be immediately removed and reported for game exploitation. This is appealable if the act was accidental. This includes any form of hack or abusing server resets/game bugs.

4. It is perfectly fine to ask an officer for extra items past your withdrawal limit. If approved, the officer may give as many items out as needed to fill the request. However, if the player asks multiple officers/members for this privilege, a warning will be issued and the offender will be reminded that this is not allowed. If the incident persists, the offender will be demoted for extended periods of time, and consequently removed from the guild.

5. Items from the guild bank that are found to be listed in the auction house will warrant a demotion for a week with a mail requesting why the item was put up. If the member admits to stealing for profit, rule B2 applies. If the offender withdrew the items after they were listed in the auction house, they will be demoted for 24 hours for withdrawing unneeded items. If there is enough of the listed item to compensate for the withdrawn amount, the offender will be requested to put the item back in the guild bank. If a similar occasion occurs, the member will be removed from the guild.

6. If a member dumps trash (Grays, Low level common/uncommon items, or useless items) in the bank, they will be warned via mail to read the bank info tabs. If a second offense happens, they will be demoted for 3 days and reminded to read the info tabs again.

C. Guild Chat

1. Guild chat must be free of hate, intolerance, and threats. If a breach of any of those three sections happens, the offender will be demoted and the officers will assess any further punishment. Keep in mind that if the issue is severe the offender may be reported.

2. Repetitive annoying or offensive remarks are not allowed. If the victim is bothered by such action and provides proof to an officer, the offender will be demoted. If it continues, an extended demotion will occur. If the issue continues to remain unsolved, the offender will be removed from the guild and may be reported.

3. Conversations that can be considered offensive are a gray area. If a member is bothered by a conversation, the members involved can be asked to move it to a different channel or discontinue it first by the member, and then by an officer. If this does not occur, the main conversation members will be demoted. Any retaliation from the offender will cause an extended demotion and a warning for removal from the guild. If any problems continue, the offenders(s) shall be removed.

4. All inappropriate conversations should be hosted after 10:00 PM server time. Before this time, all conversations should remain at a decent, yet casual and fun, level equivalent to a "Teen" rated video game. If a member persistently begins a conversation that is not proper for the time, they will be warned. On the second offense, they will be demoted until 10:00 PM server time of that day.

The preceding rule has been eliminated. Please refer to C3 for any problems concerning offensive conversations.

D. Ventrilo

1. Channels are named for their designated use. If a member spams a channel with off-topic or irrelevant talk, they will be issued a warning. If it continues, the member will be globally muted.

2. Hateful speech, threats, or inappropriate language is not allowed. If a member is offended by any speech, the offender will be kicked from the server. If the offender returns and continues to cause problems, the offender will be banned.

3. Removing punishments, such as relogging to get rid of a global mute, is not allowed. If an instance occurs, the offender will be kicked from the server. If the member returns and continues to cause problems, they will be banned.

E. Forum

1. General forum rules apply to the forum. No pornography, racism, or hate in the forum is allowed. If it is found in the forum, the offender will be demoted in-game, the post will be removed, and the forum account will be issued a warning. If another incident happens, the offender will be demoted for an extended period and their posting privileges will be suspended. If the problem persists, the member will be removed from the guild and their account on the forum will be deleted.

2. Private messages on the forum are to be kept clean. If a malicious message is sent, and the victim can provide proof, the offender will be demoted. If the issue continues, the offender will be removed from the guild and their forum account will be deleted.

4. The calendar is to be used for useful events. If a member spams the calendar, they will be issued a warning and politely asked not to. If the offender continues to do so, the account’s calendar privileges will be revoked and they will be demoted in-game. If a third offense occurs, the offender will be removed from the guild and their forum account will be removed.

I. Other

1. If 3 or more members request that a member is reviewed, atleast 3 officers are able to discuss the issue with that player. If the issue is not resolved, the punishment may be decided in the meeting.

2. If atleast 3 officers are not present for a guild meeting, the meeting shall be postponed to the following week.

3. If a member asks for a special promotion or reward that could be considered reasonable, a majority of Top Advisors can agree to grant the member such a request.

4. If an officer is being retaliated against for giving a warning, demotion, or performing an eviction, the offender will be reminded that there is an appeals system through the forum. If it continues, the offender can be demoted for 24 hours. If the member is already demoted, the member will be kicked.

5. If a member returns from an inactive period where they were removed from the guild without prior notice of their inactivity, they may not retain their old rank unless they had another character at that rank that is still within the guild. If they gave prior notice, but none of their characters have retained their old rank, at least 2 officers may decide to elevate them to their old rank.

Use common sense when abiding by the rules. We as officers try to be lenient, however there are lines that are crossed very often and need to be dealt with. Demotions should not be taken personally, as us officers would much rather not have to do it. It is only for the safety of the guild and the bettering of our atmosphere. Thanks for reading.
